What To Plant In The Autumn

With it being late September, loads of gardeners will give up on their gardens till next Spring but you don’t have to. Why not try and do some late sowing? There are a couple of crops we recommend.

Leafy vegetables like winter lettuces are perfect for this time of year. The leafy crops do not require loads of light, so they’re a perfect choice. You can try to grow winter cress, pak choi, mizuna and plenty other varieties.

You can start to sow broad beans and peas anytime between now and November. The earlier the better though, as the plants will establish over winter, whilst flowering earlier. Just be wary if the weather is frosty and try to fleece the plants.
