How to Landscape a Sloped Garden

A sloped garden poses more challenges than a flat surface. It can also be very interesting and unique to plant and landscape, and lots of gardeners find it a fun activity to develop a garden like this.

The key to successful gardening within a sloped landscape is planning. You should make sure you plan everything in advance so you can work out different areas within the garden.

Create zones, so that the garden almost feels like multiple spaces. Make the zones that are lower down the places where you plant taller trees and bushes, to create a layered effect. This way, when you look down at the garden from your property, you will be able to see all the areas of the garden spread out in front of you.

Some other areas that might work well are a BBQ area, a patio, a wildflower ‘meadow’ using wildflower turf and a seating area.
